SEO and high position in Google for a website on WIX Editor and Wix Studio

In the constantly changing digital reality for business, achieving high positions in Google is the main goal in many industries. Of course, I wouldn't be myself if I didn't mention that being in the first or high position in Google doesn't always give us exactly the effects we want in our marketing plan, but more about that in another post :)

However, SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the key to being visible, and when combined with a good website design, it can bring extraordinary results. In the Polish SEO expert space, there is a belief that pretty and complex websites do not convert as well as simple and unattractive ones. I, of course, decided to check and investigate all this to have my own perspective.

I won't believe that only strong brands can have awesome websites, because their position is already mega powerful. I am convinced that it is definitely possible to combine elements that are very important to me - a good-looking website that also achieves very good results in search engine rankings.

To dig deeper, I enlisted the expert insight of Crystal Carter from Wix Studio, who definitely shed some light on how these two elements can work together to create a solid online presence.

As a designer and marketer, my top priority is understanding and implementing those strategies that can help your website rank at the top of search engine rankings, increase traffic, and achieve your business goals.

That's why I try to delve into the subject myself , working with SEO experts from the US and beyond to continually educate myself on the latest trends and changes in algorithms, because that knowledge is invaluable. The digital world is dynamic, and maintaining an advantage requires a combination of both design excellence and SEO mastery.

So let's get down to specifics:

Introduction to SEO and Web Design

SEO is a multi-faceted strategy aimed at increasing the visibility of your website on search engines such as Google and beyond.

On the other hand, web design focuses on creating user-friendly and aesthetically appealing pages. When these two elements are effectively combined, along with a good UX or user experience, these elements actually help in increasing traffic and ultimately generate better conversion rates.

Understanding SEO Basics

Crystal Carter emphasized that before we begin designing, it’s crucial to have a solid understanding of SEO fundamentals. This includes keyword research, on-page optimization, and making sure your site is indexed properly by search engines.

  • Keyword Research: Identifying the most relevant and high-performing keywords for your niche. Keywords should be seamlessly integrated into your website content, meta descriptions, headings, and URLs.

  • On-Page Optimization: This involves optimizing individual web pages to rank higher. Elements like titles, meta descriptions, and alt text for images are essential.

  • Indexing: Making sure your website can be easily crawled and indexed by search engines. This includes creating a well-organized sitemap and using robots.txt files to direct search engines.

It is worth remembering that entering data in the footer such as: keyword plus cities in Poland and linking to one subpage or the same but hidden under a photo in the background color of the page in the header - will not work and will even be considered a violation of positioning rules, which may be related to a ban from the browser's AI :) Those times are rightly gone forever.

It is worth remembering that today the narrative and tone of the texts on the page play a very important role. What counts is a high-quality message directed very specifically to the recipients, giving them the necessary information and tips as an added value to cooperation. I am also planning a separate entry on this topic :)

The Role of Web Design in SEO

Web design is no longer just about aesthetics. A well-designed website is helpful in retaining visitors and reducing bounce rates, two metrics that have a significant impact on SEO.

  • Mobile-friendly: Due to Google's mobile-first indexing, having a responsive design that works seamlessly on all devices is crucial.

  • Fast loading: A slow website can degrade the user experience and negatively impact your search engine rankings. Optimization techniques include image compression, browser caching, and reducing server response times.

  • Easy Navigation: A clear navigation structure helps not only users but also search engines better understand and index your page.

Content rules (!)

Quality content remains one of the strongest pillars of SEO. Crystal Carter encourages web designers to work closely with content creators to ensure that content is not only engaging, but also optimized for search engines.

  • Informative and relevant: Content should provide value by answering the questions and needs of your target audience.

  • Regular updates: Keeping your content fresh and up to date signals to search engines that your site is active and relevant.

  • Engaging media: Including images, videos, and infographics can increase user engagement and are appreciated by search engines when properly optimized.

UX (User Experience) and its impact on SEO

User experience is key. A positive user experience can lead to higher engagement rates and better SEO results. Crystal discussed several aspects of UX that web designers should focus on:

  • Intuitive Layouts: Websites should be easy to navigate. Users should be able to find what they are looking for without much effort.

  • Accessibility: Making sure your websites are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, can improve the overall user experience and expand your audience.

  • Interactive elements: Features like chatbots, quizzes, and dynamic content can keep users engaged and reduce bounce rates.

Conclusions

Ranking in Google isn’t just about how fast a page is and what keywords it contains. It’s a harmonious combination of effective SEO practices and excellent web design. Web designers really need to know how these two elements can work together to create a solid online presence.

In my opinion, it is not worth giving up the good and attractive appearance of the website, because we lose an important aspect, which is the originality and memory of our website by the recipients.

Every day we open dozens of different websites and very often it is difficult for us to remember them . We remember few of them. But if there is one among them that we like aesthetically, we will try to come back to it and this is a sociological aspect of SEO that is often omitted in strategies.

I certainly do not recommend doing this, especially in the case of a smaller business that is supposed to be closer to the customer and can focus on local positioning. \

It is definitely lower costs and more optimized on a small scale. Everything should result from our thorough analysis and knowledge about what SEO strategy is needed in a given case.

Websites created in the Wix editor are very easy to monitor for SEO, every website owner on wIx has access to the free Wix owner application where they can constantly monitor website traffic and have access to many reports in one place without purchasing additional tools.

WIx users also have additional applications available that are very simple and intuitive to use, and can perform their SEO independently based on the application's instructions. This reduces costs to a minimum.

This gives you the opportunity to increase your SEM budgets - that is, paying for ads in Google Adds or social media. The most important thing is that in Wixe we see everything in real time, so some SEO companies avoid this editor because it's easy to check if anyone has taken any action.

To help you get organized and get started on the basic SEO tasks every website owner should take care of, we have the Page-Level SEO Assistant.

Wix’s site-level SEO Assistant helps ensure that you’re properly performing the most important SEO tasks for your site by flagging up tasks that (if ignored) could be considered an “SEO liability.” This includes things like not connecting your site to Google Search Console.

The SEO Assistant in the Wix page editor presents SEO recommendations that will help you increase your chances of attracting visitors to your site from search engines (e.g. by adding a blog to the page.) Thanks to this, in a very simple and accessible way, and of course in Polish.

The Wix SEO Setup Checklist is a step-by-step plan to help you improve your site’s SEO. It will help you set up the basics, and also show you how to increase your online presence by pointing out weak spots and providing useful tips for improvement.

IT'S a really friendly and great tool for everyday work with SEO optimization, without the need to delve into extensive technical knowledge, mainly because the editor is extended with intuitive SEO configuration tools.

Thanks to this, we save a lot of time, we see the results in real time and even if we decide to hire an SEO specialist or a company for positioning, we are able to very easily verify the results of the website and the work that has been done or determine its lack.

The lack of knowledge about SEO in the Wix editor gives us the effect of the opinion that these pages are poorly or poorly positioned. This is of course the opinion of people who know how to configure SEO in other editors, e.g. in Wordpress. There are many articles on this topic on the Internet and unfortunately they are very misleading.

SEO in the Wix editor is possible from every level, the one I described above and from the code level, which also has full access from the developer level.

An additional advantage is the magic button in the Wix editor, which is called

"Hire a specialist". This gives us access to certified editor experts who will perform the necessary actions for us after prior arrangements.

Milimetriks Grphic Studio is also there at the disposal of clients from Poland.

I invite you to work together on SEO and more, and best regards
